What you’ll do

We’re looking for a Enterprise Project Manager to join the ArcBest Technologies team. The Enterprise Project Manager establishes and implements project management processes and practices for high priority strategic projects based on approved and committed scope, delivery dates, and budget. This position oversees and manages both technological and non-technological aspects of the project from initiation through delivery and transition to maintenance. Collaborates at multiple levels and across organizations, both internal and external, to ensure project success. The Enterprise Project Manager must maintain excellent communication with management, team members, and other stakeholders on the state of the project.

Your contribution may include:

  • Define project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders and define project success criteria.

  • Liaise with project stakeholders and team members and communicate project expectations and status in a timely, efficient, and clear fashion.

  • Plan, schedule, and effectively track project timelines, milestones, and deliverables using appropriate tools and practices.

  • Determine the frequency and content of status reports, analyze results, and troubleshoot problem areas.

  • Conduct project retrospectives and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.

  • Provide input in developing project management best practices and tools.

  • Initially and throughout the project, identify the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals working with other department managers to acquire personnel as needed.

  • Direct and manage project development from beginning to end and delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel.

  • Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project team and identify and manage project dependencies and critical paths.

  • Manage changes in project scope, identify potential risk, and devise contingency plans.

  • Coach, mentor, motivate, and supervise project team members, and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work.

  • Build, develop, and grow any business relationships vital to the success of the project.

  • Be familiar with standard SDLC processes and ensure they are consistent with current ArcBest Technologies standards.

  • Consult with the PMO leadership and project sponsors where appropriate to address unresolved problems or project escalations.

  • Facilitate structured in-person, virtual, and hybrid meetings or workshops to align and build agreement among stakeholders and teams.

  • Other duties and projects, as assigned.

As a Enterprise Project Manager, you will be a member of the ArcBest Technologies Project Management team in Fort Smith, AR. Your hours will be Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm, with irregular hours that may occur depending on workload.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in a related field of study, preferred.

Experience: Minimum, two years’ technology and/or non-technology formal project management; four years in leading technological initiatives; or four years’ relevant management and/or operational experience, preferred.

Computer Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, familiarity with collaboration and PPM tools such as MS Teams, Miro, Slack, Azure DevOps, MS Project, Clarity, Jira, Confluence.

Other Requirements: PMP (Project Management Professional) certification preferred, or pursuit and completion of PMP certification within three years.
