Currently, we are looking for an Intern, Help Desk to join the ArcBest team. The Intern, Help Desk works with a team of Help Desk professionals in the Help Desk call center. This position’s primary responsibility is to provide assistance with IT and business problems within ArcBest, its subsidiaries, and outside customers.

Your contribution may include:

  • Monitor the computer system for errors and contact the appropriate developer.

  • Perform password unlock and password resets.

  • Support and troubleshoot PC hardware, software, and network connection issues.

  • Support and troubleshoot handheld devices and in-cab technical devices.

  • Provide and oversee Tier 1 software and hardware support.

  • Diagnose and resolve problems using documented procedures and checklists (from the Knowledge Base), in the performance of most responsibilities.

  • Enter call data into the tracking system, ServiceNow.

  • Escalate problems to higher level technical support professionals when necessary.

  • Assist in the resolution of application, hardware, and software problems.

  • Other duties and projects, as assigned.

As an Intern, Help Desk, you will be a member of the ArcBest Technologies Operations Services team in Fort Smith, AR. This is a part time position that will average fewer than 30 hours per week. Work hours generally fall between 8:00 am - 5:00 pm with occasional irregular hours depending on workload.

Qualifications

Education: Currently enrolled and pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field, preferred.

Computer Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Comprehensive knowledge of PC hardware and software. Broad understanding of network technologies and troubleshooting device connectivity and equipment.
