What you’ll do

We’re looking for a Technical Document Designer to join the ArcBest Technologies team. The Technical Document Designer position creates customer-facing documents, manages content libraries, and tracks customer certifications. The Technical Document Designer will be responsible for ensuring that all customer-facing documents are accurate, engaging, and informative, while also ensuring that our content library is up-to-date and accessible to all team members and customers. Additionally, the Technical Document Designer will leverage proficient graphic design skills to enhance the visual appeal and overall aesthetics of customer-facing documents, creating compelling visuals that effectively communicate information and contribute to a cohesive brand identity. This position will also help with the setup and implementation of customers in support of products offered through ArcBest Technologies and its affiliates. This position's daily responsibilities require strong attention to detail, excellent problem-solving as well as time management skills.

Your contribution may include:

  • Execute creative graphic design projects within a corporate setting, adhering to established style guides to maintain brand consistency and uphold visual identity standards.

  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to interpret and implement design requirements, ensuring that all visual elements align seamlessly with the corporate style guide.

  • Demonstrate expertise in crafting visually compelling materials, from presentations to marketing collateral, while consistently applying and refining design elements to meet the specifications outlined in the corporate style guide.

  • Utilize current design applications and industry standards to create visually impactful and contemporary graphic designs, ensuring alignment with the latest trends and technological advancements.

  • Create, edit, and proofread customer-facing documents, including user manuals and instruction guides.

  • Develop and maintain a content library, ensuring that all content is up-to-date and accessible to team members and customers.

  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to ensure that all documentation is accurate and meets customer needs.

  • Create and maintain document templates and style guides.

  • Manage and organize a variety of content, including text, images, and multimedia.

  • Develop and maintain documentation version control systems.

  • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure that all content is consistent with brand standards and messaging.

  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in documentation development.

  • Implement customer training, certification, and services tailored to each supported product offering.

  • Understand customer stakeholders and organize training and implementation functions aligned with customer’s internal departments.

  • Collaborate with key stakeholders in the business to establish, prioritize, and track strategic requirements to be communicated to customers and vendors.

  • Work in a team setting to accomplish departmental goals.

  • Maintain a positive attitude in a highly intense environment.

  • Other duties and projects, as assigned.

As a Technical Document Designer, you will be a member of the ArcBest Technologies Tech R & D team in Fort Smith, AR. Your hours will vary based on scheduling to provide customer coverage during normal business hours including nights, weekends, and travel time.

Education: Bachelor's Degree, preferred. Experience will be considered in lieu of formal education.

Experience: 3 years’ experience in content development or related field, preferred.

Computer Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Creative Suite.

Additional Requirements: Ability to understand and link related business requirements with corporate strategies and capabilities.
